of aphids and ladybirds

I'm in a new place and eager to get planting on my new balcony (no yard yet, alas). One of the nearby nurseries had a "peach drift rose" for sale; I'm a little addicted to roses and these smelled wonderful, thought it'd be a great addition if I can pull it off. I will note I'm not sure there is enough sun, it's an east-facing balcony and gets sun from dawn until around 11 or so.

Today I noticed a few things...

Eeek!

Oh, huh,

Erm.

There seem to be a /lot/ of ladybird larvae on the rose, and as gross as it is to see a bud covered with aphids, I think maybe I'll give the ladybirds a chance to have at 'em. There certainly aren't as many aphids near the ladybirds!

The spots though, I think might be mildew? I don't know if there are any fungicides that are ladybird safe. I guess I'll stick to chopping those sick looking leaves off and trying to make sure only to water at the base, in the morning.
