Good lord, I never know the answer to these, but this time I think I actually do!

This looks to me like comfrey or else a very close relative.

Comfrey is a wonderfully useful plant in the garden and for healing minor injuries (or so it's reputed to be), and it doesn't spread, but it sure does take up more space than you'd think any plant could.

Yes, agree that it looks like a small comfrey! It will get about six feet tall and is the very favourite of our local bees. The leaves make wonderful compost.

I agree it is comfrey, although mine has much larger leaves and white flowers. It attracts bees, and the leaves are wonderful for compost. Mine has spread, but not to the point of being a problem. I no longer use it for healing, internally or topically, after I read some reports connecting it's use to cancer.
