First post here.
I'm not much of a gardener, but I try. What brings me here today is this question. I had a forsythia bush at the northeast corner of my house. /It was there about eight years. At first it grew, but never really had many flowers. Never the large show of yellow blossoms in spring. I considered moving it, but this year it made the decision for me because it died. No leaves, no flowers. Nothing. I just tried the branches and they all snapped off. So. It's gone.
I'm in the pacific northwest. And I'd love some suggestions. What else should I plant there? I need something that's relatively easy care. And something that doesn't spread too far, since we have a path next to the area I would like to plant in.
