I found a wild pink phlox growing by the side of a road near my house. It was in full flower otherwise I'd not have noticed it while driving home. Naturally I had to stop and get a piece of it to bring home since it's neither rare nor endangered and they're planning on mowing that road soon.
The really nice thing about this phlox is that it's sweetly scented and it perfumed the whole kitchen. Hubby came home, noticed it immediately, and loved the scent of it. He's hoping it multiplies.
You know what gets me about all of this?
None of the cultivated varieties of phlox that I own have scented flowers!
