Temperatures here (zone 6) are dipping into the 40s at night, in fact there's a frost warning for tonight. I've still got a lot of tomatoes in various stages of ripeness but the foliage is starting to turn yellow. Is now the time to harvest the rest of the tomatoes? I read a recommendation to uproot the plants and hang them upside down in a dark place, I suppose to let them ripen while staying on the plant. Anyone done that? I've had good luck ripening them on the counter this year, as I tend to get worried that some critter will take a bite out of them (as has happened a couple of times).
