So now that winter has finally rolled around in Southern California, and warm days are unlikely... I find myself relatively bored now that all of my plants have been brought inside. I have started about thirty basil plants which are growing well in their tin cans and water bottles. I've even began trying rooting cuttings of a variety of roses/flowers/etc, even though I feel it's relatively unlikely they will do very well without long spring sun and warmth to encourage them along. I've even bought new house plants but... I sort of feel like I've reached my limit and I have no idea what to do for the winter days while my desire to grow stuff is still so strong.
What are you guys doing during the down time/winter season?
Has anyone else done roses from cuttings? How did it turn out?
What plants have you done? Any tips more than the rooting hormone bottle how-to guide?
