Perennials? Too late to plant?

My mom got a great sale on some perennials and brought them over today for me.
She said to go ahead and plant them... but I'm concerned that its too late for me. I live on the Zone 5. I could give them to someone who lives on the 6-7 line tomorrow (headed down there).
Our weather report for this week:
Highs between 50 and 65, lows down to 40. No rain or moisture.
Should I plant them in my yard, or send them south?
