Squishy Cukes

We have lots of cucumbers coming in, the plants look healthy, everything looks good...but all of the cucumbers are soft, squishy & floppy feeling. Can anyone tell me what is going on?

Need water, sounds like. Cukes are crisp because of turgidity. You also might be leaving them to grow too large before picking. Picking in the cooler part of the day (early morning) also helps with crispness.

Yep. Picking cukes in south Texas summer calls for a good soak at 10PM and then picking them before 9AM the next day.

The heat index here has been 110. My dad claims they are basically cooking on the vine. I'll try your method & see if it helps. Thanks!
