LJ ate my first post, so I hope this isn't a duplicate.

I'm beginning mine this spring! I've got loads of ideas but no experience. The windows were free, and I've also got a couple of glass doors to use as large window areas. My idea is to build the foundation out of old tires, burying them to grade level and filling them with dirt. Makes for a really, really stable foundation. Some plans here: http://www.bluerockstation.com/index.php/cool-buildings/plastic-bottle-greenhouse

I think the basic structure will be 4X4 posts at the corners and midpoints, then using 2X4's to frame out the window areas. I am using ones that won't open, so it's basically a frame around a cased window. Simple! I hope.

Also, I will have soffet fans (pulled from old furnaces and condensing units that were being scrapped) to take the heat out in the summer, and a rain barrel on a 5' high stand to gravity feed water to the plants.

I also suggest looking at every picture of greenhouses that you can to get an idea of what you want inside. A potting bench, for instance, or old dishwashers for containers, a shed on the side to hold tools! Loads of ideas, but they'll also give you and idea of how big you need the house to be.

Good luck!!

I guess the first step is to find out the sizes of the windows & start planning from there! :)
