I have a very small and mostly shady yard, so sunny gardening space is at a premium. Sadly, I don't really have any good place to put fruit bushes in the ground. I'm looking at
this bluberry for growing in pots on my deck.
I'm in zone 3a though, so getting it to survive the winter would be a big problem. I was thinking I could just plant it still in a plastic pot in my small in-ground garden in the fall when peas and such growing there were done for the winter. Think it would survive like that? Or maybe if I took it out of the pot and planted it in the ground with plans to dig up and repot in the spring? Or is it doomed either way?
Also, does anyone have any experience with this blueberry? How is the fruit, and does it produce any the first year?
Thanks!
