I'm a gardening nerd, plus a question.
I'm such a gardening nerd, that in my dream last night, I checked on my corn seeds and was really, really excited that they were coming up!! (Alas, I checked the actual garden this morning, and they're not. Boo).
To my question: bought a small fig tree from a car-boot sale a few weeks ago, and it's doing well in its pot - the figs are changing colour and getting softer. How do I know they're ready to eat? There's only 4 on the tree so I don't want to pick them early 'just to check'.
