Finally an allotment :D
Not a post with much purpose but I hope it's alright to share gardening related joy.
I just got an allotment (half a plot) after 2 years of waiting! XD I am ecstatic. It's 10 mins walk from my house and only 5 from my front door to back entrance of the plots once I have key for that, seeing at that is 2 roads away. I even got a choice between two half plots - 1 with young fruit trees and bushes but compact lawn that was tempting or the one I decided upon already with raised borders (in need of a tad repair) that has good soil, minimum nasty weeds and pumpkins, budleia, sunflowers + mint come with it.
I've got a good bit of maintenance and planning ahead of me - ho what to grow this autumn apart from onions/garlic - but I am really happy. It was simply nice being in the allotments surrounded by beautiful greenery and looking at all the wonderous lovely things everyone else has grown, peaceful to be.
If anyone has any allotment related advice feel free to chime in, I am a newbie to it.
