Asparagus - when to cut back
So this is my first attempt at an asparagus bed and I'm a bit confused about when to cut it back.
I bought 1 yo roots last year and it's taken off great but I know now it's getting towards the end of summer I should be cutting them back but I can't find exactly how and when this is done? I'm in Austin Texas and it seems very few people try it here and no garden stores have had an answer for me. Most of them are now 4 foot + tall and have foliage but (from what I understand) they should "flower" before I cut them back?
