I recently found a packet of Giant Gray Stripe Sunflower seeds wile doing some spring cleaning. I've never done sunflowers before, and was wondering what is the best way to start the seeds? Should I start them in peat pots or plant directly into the ground? I read something about starting the germination process by placing the seeds in between damp paper towels, but I tried that method a few years ago with some passion vine seeds without any luck so I'm a little doubtful about trying it again.
