Florida greenery (picture heavy)

Mar 12, 2010 06:48

I got out the camera yesterday and took some pictures. I took some pictures of my garden (what there is of it) but I also took some pictures of six plants around my yard that I was hoping to get identified.

For those of you that answered my post about covering grass with black plastic, thanks. I ended up just digging it up but I tried to be really thorough about getting every last little bit of grass (and grass root) up. I put down some brown paper and mulch, but I'm not quite done yet so I don't have an "after" picture.

My peas are putting out flowers! In the background you can see the general state of the yard - neglected.

My spinach is growing day by day. Can it handle lots of sunlight? It mainly gets morning sun in its current location and I'm debating if moving it to a sunnier spot would help it grow.

I believe these are camellias. I had no idea until a friend said "Oh your camellias look lovely."

Now for the mystery plants...

Mystery Plant 1. What is this stuff? It's everywhere!

Mystery Plant 2.

Mystery Plant 3.

Mystery Plant 3 (again).

Mystery Plant 4. It's starting to get a lot of white buds on it but no open flowers yet.

Mystery Plant 5. My grass might be dead or dormant, but there's plenty of this stuff all over the yard.

Mystery Plant 6. This stuff is all over the yard too.

Thanks for looking at all this, even if you don't know what the mystery plants are.
