Review of supplier: Artistic Gardens & Le Jardin du Gourmet

A few months ago blackhilllife asked if anyone had used artisticgardens.com to order sample seed packs (which seem a deal at only 35 cents each.)

A couple of people offered to review the supplier, although I haven't seen many reviews yet (it's early for seed starting in parts of the US) so I thought I'd offer my experience with them so far.

I ordered 10 sample packets in early February and received them in early March. This isn't too out-of-the-ordinary for spring shipping schedules.

Out of the 10 I ordered I received one substitute, one completely empty packet, 2 packets with seed fragments and 1 packet that didn't germinate at all. This presents several problems as I always specifically request that I be notified before substitutions are sent, there was no damage to the shipping envelope and no reason seeds in good condition should have destroyed during shipping and the non-germinating packet was borage (which is pretty easy to germinate.)

Overall I'm really only out $7.00 and I wouldn't bother reviewing here if I didn't know some people wanted a review. But I wouldn't order from them again.
