New Plants

I expanded my flower garden in my backyard, as well as planting some new flowers from my mom's house! I'm also thinking about next spring, and what I want to plant...

This is what my garden looked like before I expanded, If anyone cares to remember: http://community.livejournal.com/gardening/2187409.html#cutid1

Now it looks like this!

I expanded it and planted some Stokes Aster I got from romani123 (on the right), and some Shiso, also called Perilla, (on the left) that I got from a co-worker. I also transplanted some hens and chicks to fill in the other side. Next spring I plan on planting some zinnias in the back next to the fence, and some marigolds in the spaces up front.
A close up:

I have been wanting to do something with the front yard, instead of the ugly junky bushes and weeds that were there already. There were a bunch of big rocks right up next to the house, so I pulled those out to make a border, and planted some flowers I got from my parent's house. They are moving soon, and rather than loose all of my mom's flowers, we dug some up to put at my house. There are French Irises on the outside, and a pink rosebush on the inside. The roses are actually grandchildren of a rosebush named Rosie that my grandma had at her house when my mom was a kid. My mom planted some of Rosie's kids at their house and now I have some grandkids at my house. I also planted some Tiger Lily bulbs on the side. After this picture was taken I have added a Ferny Peony in at the end of the Tiger Lily row.

I planted all these plants last week, and they have all perked up and survived transplanting, thankfully. I am so excited for next spring to see if these all come back!

Also a sunflower the squirrels planted for me:
