Autumn Toadstools

We are heavy into Autumn down in the Southern Hemisphere and enjoying along with the changing leaves lots of wild toadstools and mushrooms.

I thought I'd share a collage of these ones growing by my home, they are my favourite, they put the fun in fungi :)

Amanita muscaria...hallucinogenic, toxic but oh so pretty. :)

You can eat them if you are willing to deal with the effects, but they're not for cooking.

STUNNING! I love these guys

a friend of mine once made an appetizer made of half a tomato, a hard boiled egg and dots of mayonaise that looked just like these 'shrooms.

who says you can't eat toadstools?

Amanita muscaria are found throughout the Nothern hemisphere and some of the Southern, it seems.
