the prodigy
last night was so much fun! we went to nation to hear prodigy. been waiting for a decade to hear them - actually never thought i would.
they opened with "break and enter" from music for the jilted generation. too cool! other highlights for me included "poison" and "firestarter." the best though was toward the end, maybe the second to last song.... they said, "this one is dedicated to moby" and they played "smack my bitch up!" for me, that was the pinnacle of the evening. the crowd went nuts. i don't even remember what song they actually closed the show with.
the crowd was jumping. it felt like being at a punk concert, which kind of brought me back to my 1986 roots. great mix of people there - ravers, punks, breakdancers.... and you could tell who the old school prodigy fans were too - they looked a lot like us. heheh i've actually never seen so many mohawks in one place before!
simply a blast.
