ahhhhhhhhhh......
so far, this has been a perfect beginning to a new year.
jonathan and i spent last night together, at home. and as cliche as it might be, we had wine and cheese, watched a movie on demand, and saw the ball drop. we drew the curtains and slept in this morning. then had breakfast at our favorite brunch place up the street, where our favorite bartender at the restaurant was on duty.
after that, a chance stroll into pier I brought us the set of dishes we've been looking for for months and thought we'd never find. and they were on clearance.
after that, jonathan got some quality time in playing video games and going for a run, while i spent some time alone at a barnes and noble, finished my book, wrote out a few notes to people, downloaded a fun app to my ipod, and talked to my parents. i also programmed the XM channels i wanted into our new car.
came home, did some stuff online, ate dinner, and now as i sit down to relax, i turn on HGTV and they're showing the 2010 dream house and antonio's new show premiers tonight (the guy who won the last design star).
now seriously, for me it almost doesn't get better than that. it's been an absolutely perfect couple of days. i'm beginning to feel optimistic and hopeful about the new year. i think it might hold some promise.
