Hello all. I just got home from my MRI. That was very unpleasent. Here's how it went:
I got there at 8:55am, 5 minutes early. Filled out paper work and was ready by 9:15, 15 minutes before my appt time. I got called back at 9:40, answered a few questions, then took my shirt off and put on a hospital gown. No, I didn't have to take off my pants, just my shirt. LOL. So I went into a room and sat on a table waiting for shots, kinda getting nervous. I layed down and wait until 10 until they started. They had me lay on a thing that raised my right side and put most of my weight on my left side. They cleaned my shoulder up and the numbed it with local anisthetic, which didn't hurt that bad. Then they started injecting the dye. I couldn't feel anything until she hit my bone!! It didn't feel that great, and I told her. She said that she had to get the dye into the joint, say it may hurt for a little bit. After the dye they had to put the contrast in and that caused a lot of pressure in my shoulder, it was very tense. It didn't hurt, but it was uncomfortable. They were done with the needles!!! YEAH! I asked her what kind of needle she used, and it was a spinal tap needle, thin but about this ----------------------------------------------- long. About 90% of the length was in my arm!!!!! So, got up and walked to the MR. I've had an MRI before so I knew what to expect, lay down and don't move, it's going to be very loud. I actually fell asleep! Haha, I couldn't believe it since it was so loud, but I did. My arm started hurting pretty bad while I was in there, and got even worse once I got out. I've taken some Advil now to help out, but they said that it would be pretty sore today. It's very sore and the anisthetic is wearing off, weird feeling right now.
Well, I doubt I'll be doing much today with this arm. Anyone can call me and come see me!!! What really sucks is this is just the beginning, if I have to have surgery, that's where all the pain is, for a long time.
Tata for now.
