So, do you ever sometimes look in your closet, and realize that 85% of the clothes were purchased in the past year, and wonder, "What on earth did I wear before I bought these clothes? Did I run around naked?" Well, this used to happen to me when I was making money teaching and I was addicted to Old Navy. Anyway, so today I was reading some of the comments on my friends' LJs and I had a similar epiphany: Almost all the comments on almost all the LJs I read are from camp friends. Now, many people were friends from childhood... but many of us were not. So, this begs the question: did any of us have friends before June 2004? No, seriously... when I get mountain-sick or forest-sick or otherwise sick (of school, of cornfields, of whatever), it can be sobering to realize that most of the people dearest to my heart live in central Illinois, and I've only known them for nine months! I'm convinced that nothing in the world can compare to camp in that respect, and that is one reason among many that I'm positive I want to make camp my career.
So today I had a hermit day and sat in front of my computer in my pajamas from 10:00 am until right now, contacting staff members and... writing FOURTEEN PAGES of the new staff manual. ///bnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
(Umm, that last bit was a message from Merry, which translates: "I just left a huge stinky poop in the freshly-changed litter box and I thought I'd come stand on the keyboard and lick your nose to celebrate").
Talk to you all later, I'm off to the gym now.
