So...here is that Dean/Jo mix that I was working on. Yes, it's the second one. It's kind of a break-up mix, you know, like what they listened to after they broke up, even though I hope that they bring Alona Tal back into the show, I highly doubt it. Even if the break-up is a bit AU, there is still some truth in it. But anyway, pretend that Dean and Jo had a relationship, and this is what happened after.
How To Deal: The Dean Way
After we saw how Dean dealt with the demon in Crossroads, and how when Sam asked him if he would've taken the deal to bring John back, he just turned on extremely loud music, I thought that that is how he deals with things that he doesn't want to think about. Dean turns on loud, slightly angry music to deal.
1.
If Looks Could Kill - A Heartwell Ending
I'm sorry for, I'm sorry for, I'm sorry for bleeding on your porch
I know, I know, I know, knew that it was eerie
But of course I tried to keep my heart inside of my chest but that fell through
That's why I'm here with her, not you
2.
Callbacks - We Are Scientists
Well my tongue is hot and I'm singing songs
I got a million only words for what you are
I gotta plastic bag and a broken heart
I guess everything is better wherever you are
3.
Down On Love - Jamie Dunlap
This song was used in Houses of the Holy when Dean was lying on the bed with the "Magic Fingers" (LOL btw), and now, I've kind of become obsessed with it. I really do love it.
Soul-taker, heart breaker,
Some say she's one of a kind.
Head turner, what a looker,
She's enough to make a grown man cry.
4.
Blood To Bleed - Rise Against
"I dont love you anymore", is all
I remember you telling me, never have I felt so cold
But I've no more blood to bleed
'cause my heart has been draining into the sea
5.
Woman - Wolfmother
She's a woman, you know what i mean,
You better listen, listen to me
She's gonna set you free oh oh yeah....
How To Deal: The Jo Way
I don't feel that this part of the mix blends as well as Dean's part, I think that it's a little choppy. But I think that after a really intense relationship that ended badly, I would be the same way, not able to choose a genre of music, let alone whether or not to get up in the morning. So that's my reasoning to why Jo's mix doesn't blend.
1.
Jolene - Ray LaMontagne
I had a whole little fanfic thought up because I know that Jo's name is actually Joanna Beth Harvelle, but I really don't like that name, so my idea goes something like this:
"Jo, huh?" Dean smiled, leaning up against the bar.
"Yeah? What about it?" Jo said, raising one eyebrow, slightly annoyed.
"What's it short for? No, wait. Don't tell me. Let me guess," Dean said, running his fingertips along Jo's forearm. "Jo, Jo, Jolene?"
"No. Joanna Beth."
"Well, you're going to Jolene to me."
Jolene
Been so long since I seen your face
Or felt a part of this human race
I've been living out of this here suitcase for way too long
A man needs something he can hold onto
A nine pound hammer or a woman like you
Either one of them things will do
2.
Dark Lines - Gossip
I go to parties,
And all I see are a room full of faces,
Staring back at me. Tell me why. Why me?
3.
You Know I'm No Good - Amy Winehouse
I cheated myself,
Like I knew I would
I told you, I was trouble
You know that I'm no good
4.
I'm Going To Stop Pretending That I Didn't Break Your Heart - Eels
You see i never thought enough of myself
To realize that losing me could mean
Something like the tears in your eyes
And i want to tell you i'm sorry
And it's too late to start
But i'm going to stop pretending
That i didn't break your heart
5.
Great Romantic - Tunde
Don't beat yourself up
Know that you were never wrong for wishful thinking
So you done lost the battle
Should we just cross out your name and let you sink
COULD SOMEONE UPLOAD A ZIP FOR ME??? I do have more to say, but I need to get going. I will add something later, a little commentary, and maybe a little drabble.
And even as I wander, I'm keeping you in sight..., Jo's cellphone sang out loudly from inside her jacket pocket. She ran over to get it, putting the beer bottles she had been carrying down quickly so that one fell off the table and shattered on the ground. She had changed the ringtone partially because Kevin Cronin sings it from the heart, and partially because she always wanted a little reminder of Dean around, even though she wanted to forget about him. She couldn't let go.
"Fuck," she muttered, rifling through her jacket pockets trying to find the phone. "Where is it?" She found it, and flipped it open, not bothering to check the caller ID. "Hello?"
"Jo?" It was a man's voice, very familiar, but she couldn't place it.
"Yeah. Who is this?" She was exasperated, and walked over to the broken beer bottle. She crouched down to clean it up.
"It's Dean," he answered.
"Oh. Hi," she said, almost falling from her crouch.
"Hi. I just wanted to call you and tell you that we're okay. Well, my nose is broken and Sammy's exhausted, he's just sleeping now, but we're okay," he said, fumbling with the words.
"Um, okay. Well, I'm glad that you're alright," Jo said, finding it difficult to form words. He actually called. This was ridiculous, he wasn't supposed to call. He was supposed to never show up again, and she could get on with her life.
"Yeah. Um, Jo. I wanted to tell you that I'm sorry. I'm sorry that you almost got hurt, and that that evil bitch came after you," he mumbled.
"Thanks," she mumbled. "I'm sorry too."
"For what? Pulling the bullet out of my shoulder?" Dean said, laughing roughly.
"For not realizing that Sam was possessed. I feel so stupid, because what came in those doors was not Sam, and I should have known. I just thought...I don't know what I thought, actually."
"That's a first," Dean said, and she could hear the amusement in his voice.
"Yeah."
There was a pause.
"You look good, Jo. I wanted to tell you that," Dean said.
"Thanks, you do too," Jo smiled.
"It was good seeing you."
"You too."
"If we get a job that takes us near you, I hope you don't mind it if I stop in?"
"No, that'd be good."
"'k, good. Bye Jo."
"Bye," Jo said, closing the phone, putting it down on the floor, and sitting down. She rubbed her hands over her face, and took a deep breath.
