So when I got home this morning I posted the following to my Twitter:

I try to do the same thing--you can kind of track this through who my 'main' RP character has been over the last umpty years. Joe to Eddie to Susannah to Yuna to Rose (to, to a certain extent lately, Laura) has been a steady journey away from characters I have a lot in common with into the deep end. Where I often feel like I am in over my head! but so it goes. People have--like Susannah in the image I mentioned above--stepped in to help guide my hands when I slip.
It's one reason why I keep gravitating towards playing Robert Bailey somewhere--I haven't really gotten in-depth playing a gay male character before, and it's something I feel like I should get to grips with.
(The reason why I don't is mainly time. Time and the fact that there are things I still haven't tapped into with the previous characters, like Rose's unexamined privilege and complicated subconscious relationship with her race.
...and, okay, having to adjust to a new game after five years of settling into a different sort of comfort zone, admittedly...)
