But yeah, I do agree with you. About the making-an-effort-stuff, at any rate. Especially since spending so much time online I've started to hate people who don't care about spelling XD
I also do think you make a good point about making the effort to learn a foreign language. I find it terribly awkward if I am communicating with someone in a professional situation (like one of us is working in a shop the other one is frequenting) but I also feel guilty about feeling that so my feelings aren't as clear as yours.
I think the internet has been a desensitizing factor in my case. I've got an impression that it helped me develop a protective layer around my brain - I still hate linguistic mistakes, but I think I can block them, so they don't reach more sensitive areas of my brain. ;)

Well, interacting with people directly is generally different and evokes different emotions than having a spontaneous rant at them in one's blog. ;) I don't mean I'm a hypocrite and I'd be all smiles in a direct conversation with someone, and start muttering insults as soons as they'd walk away. xD It's just that talking to a concrete person is simply a different situation than criticizing a phenomenon in general. I guess I'd feel a bit awkward (but also annoyed, I must admit x)) in a situation like this, too.
Oh, I wasn't implying you were being hypocritical. I just meant that I feel guilty about criticising someone who can't speak my language because my knee-jerk reaction is to assume I'm being racist.

I wasn't implying you were. ;) I just didn't want to sound like one. I understand what you meant. :)
