So, I have not posted in quite some time. There are many reasons, I'd rather not get into it at this point ( Read more... )

First off, learn to punctuate. Cause either that's the second longest run on sentence ever, or you need to learn to use a period a bit more often.

Second, haven't you been actively trying to discourage me from arguing about things? I just want you to realize what you're saying. Cause if you want me to be more argumentative... I leave you to think about that one.

Thirdly, as to walking out of the game, A. it was for like an hour, B. I was sitting there with my thumb up my butt for like 6 hours previous to that, C. They may have seemed minor to you, but you weren't the one playing essentially an NPC for 6 hours, and D. it had partly to do with the rules and partly to do with the game being on tracks. Now, the rules for the class are just broken, and even with the patch on it, it's still broken. I don't blame you for that. It needed fixing, and you did try to do that. It just didn't work.

Lastly, I didn't just criticize you here. I also did it to you privately many times. I did it in public during game several times. And I've now done it once, in a single sentence on my LJ.

Now, I would like to point out, that in your comment you are talking about issues that came up during the WoW game. While I had commented on your changing rules in the Mage game. To my knowledge, you have only made cosmetic changes to the D20 rules, and have tried to fix the broken classes that they have for WoW. I think the only real issue I have is that I think you are missing some game balance elements for one or two things. Such as the making of certain magic items without feats.

As to Magus, I think that your world changes were fine. Adding a bunch new factions, sure. Changing the towers, at first I objected because as you explained it to me you were separating them completely. Once you made it clear that they would just be opposite ends of the same tower, I was fine. Making Mana a lot harder to get, but also reducing mana costs, that works. Though honestly, I think in retrospect, you should have left the costs for some spells the same. That makes people less likely to use super-kill-them-all spells, and use more subtle spells instead. These and other things are mostly cosmetic. They don't really change how the base rules work, they mostly change what somethings look like.

When you added accuracy and damage bonuses to guns, and changed how dodging works, and a bunch other systems, that's where I lost it. You were actively stomping on the published rules at that point. From my perspective you were changing things left and right so that they would be more like the last edition. I think I even said at one point, that if you wanted to do that, then you should use the last edition rules, but use the new world with it.

Ok, this has inadvertently turned into a rant without meaning to. If you wish to discuss this more in depth, you know where to find me.
