If anyone has been considering buying The Sims 4, it's currently available on Origin with a 75% discount until August 31st! There's various expansion packs that are reduced by 50% as well. The standard base game works out less than £10 instead of £35, I presume it's a similar low price in other currencies. Quite a bargain.

😂 I have my eye on eco lifestyle but I'm not sure if I should go for it. The one I regret getting is outdoor retreat because it's always been super glitchy for me, especially if my sims start gathering ingredients. I'm like ??? lmao.

I don't have any extras for Sims 4 yet so I'm not sure if the Eco Lifestyle one is any good. It seems like it should go well with Cottage Living though. I'm probably going to get Cottage Living and the Digital Deluxe Upgrade.

I have a couple of them! I really like Get to Work, Paranormal, and my personal fav: Strangerville. I hope they do more stuff like Strangerville (geared toward solving a mystery etc.) in the future. That's my fav one so far!

I was just on amazon and the base game code is $5USD right now. I'm like, now THAT is a good deal. Only we both already have the base game LOL.

I have Strangerville on my wishlist. The mystery aspect sounds really interesting, it's quite different to any of the other expansions. They definitely should do more like that.

That is a good deal! I got the base game for free though, so that's rather hard to beat :P

It's so much fun! I still redo the story side of it from time to time because I really just have a great time each time. I know a lot of people hated it, but there's a lot of people who hate every expansion and stuff pack so we can't really go based on that lol! I'm like, omg EA do more expansions like this!

Okay that is def very hard to beat! I got my base game at a pre-order discount. I was just too excited to wait for it to go on sale for a better deal sometime later LOL.

It's good that the expansion has replay value. I bought the university expansion for Sims 3 and rather regretted it because it wasn't quite as good as I was hoping. It doesn't really seem to add much to the base game, it's more of the same gameplay but in a different location :-/

When I was trying to decide between Sims 3 and 4, so many reviews said to avoid 4 because 3 was so much better. I only got 4 because of it being free! I had no real interest in playing it!

Right? You can replay the mystery as many times as you want. OH MY GOD SAME. I loved the uni expansion for Sims 2 but it stinks on Sims 4 RIP. Sims 4 def got rid of a lot of stuff that was in base games of the previous games, but the CAS system is amazing. I wish it was more like a mesh between everything we all loved about Sims 2 and 3 though. Ngl, most of Sims 4 is more of a cash grab without any effort RIP.

I've played each version of the Sims and it's so ridiculous how Sims 4 is not as good as some of the earlier ones. I loved the open world aspect of Sims 3, and that is sorely lacking in Sims 4. The fact that if you want your Sims visit the lot next to the one that they're on and they can't just walk (or drive, or ride a bike) to it is so annoying. That whole travelling thing is the same as Sims 2! It's gone backwards! I like the expansions that actually add something different to the gameplay, otherwise it's just the same thing but in different locations. That's one thing that attracted me to the Cottage Living expansion, it does seem to bring something new to the basic game.
