Happy Nameversary

Jun 17, 2020 15:26

At somewhere between 4 and 5 o'clock on the 17th June, 2005 I went to the solicitors and changed my name.

Fifteen years! I really can't believe it's been so long, it seems more like five years, ten at the most. I think this definitely calls for cake :)

transition: milestones, transition: name change

Life is better with cake! :P Unfortunately I had none, so I had to have ice cream instead. I am glad that I still like my name, I was so petrified about picking something and regretting it.

Ooh, that looks very nice.. and no coconut oil either! Wow. Might have ot look at their offerings again, the blondie brownie one shown on the same page looks very yummy for a start..

They seem to have some new flavours out at the moment. What do you think of the Chip Happens flavour? I don't like chocolate ice cream so the Blondie Brownie one doesn't appeal to me.

Crisps in ice-cream?! Er, maybe not.. oh but thanks to us talking about it I was able to get a tub of https://www.benjerry.co.uk/flavours/sofa-so-good-together-ice-cream on Tesco this week and tried some tonight, its delicious! (tried for the waffle cone one you had but it was unavailable). Can defnitely recommend the Sofa one, despite all the caramelly stuff its not overly sweet or sickly and the chunks of brownie are just right, mmm.

It sounds revolting, doesn't it? I'm glad to hear that you managed to get a decent flavour! I'd looked at that one but thought it sounded rather sweet and sickly so I'm glad that you've been able to test it out for me ;) I bought some more ice cream last week but Sainsbury's had sold out of the flavours that I wanted with it being hot. I ended up having to get their own brand red berry and pannacotta flavour instead. I also got a box of Nuii coconut and mango lollies because they were on offer for £2. I'd got my mum their Nordic berry flavour which she said was very nice.

I was a bit concerned it might be too much, but I only eat a little at a time in any case - glad t have been your guinea pig! :) Berry and pannacotta sounds lovely, pretty sure our Sainsburys didn't have that when i looked, neither they or Tesco seem to be big into ice-cream, Will leave you to your evil lollies, mind, mango is fab apart from it not agreeing with me but but coconut doesn't belong in there as a flavour even if i wasn't allergic

I'm not the sort of person who eats half a pot in one go either ;) The Sainsbury's I go to seems to have quite a good range of ice cream, both tubs and the lollies. There are other flavours in the Nuii range! :P Just a shame it's gone too cold for ice cream now. Typical.

There/s a limit on what the online thing can order, I guess... or it just varies on what they think the local area wants.. I looked at Nuii and they all look gorgeous :) Its never too cold for ice-cream!

Online ordering definitely varies depending on the area. I know when I've been doing an order for a holiday, the place I'm staying doesn't always have the items that I can get at home.

Ordinarily I would agree that it's never too cold for ice cream. I did a late night visit to an ice cream shop in mid-November in Boston when it was freezing! However, last week I was just so so cold, my hands were like blocks of ice and I was wearing a long-sleeved t-shirt and a hoodie. In July ffs!

Yes.. quite annoying sometimes, i know there are soem kosher products I could have cos of the lack of pork but clearly the supermarkets don't feel the need to serve that market in our area.

Poor you, thats definitely cold for July - our house seldome gets cold cos we need ot keep it extra warm for my dad.

Liverpool has a major Jewish community. It's mainly in Allerton and Childwall though. I know there's a Tesco in Childwall that has a huge Jewish selection, I went down specially once to get a load of stuff.

Mum would like to have the house warmer but I get hot very easily and then I get migraines :(

Yes, I know - had a lot of hospital appointments at a place round Childwall years back and there was an excellent butcher we'd get fab kosher sausages from, unfortunately the cachement area for our Tesco delivery doesn't reach that far, and with no car its not easy to get there for things.

I'm used to it pretty much but do get light-headed when it gets too warm, cue call to mum to turn it down/off.. dad still wears a jumper and snuggles under a blankie while i'm in t-shirts!

Mum quite often has a heater on with a blanket and several layers while I'm in a t-shirt!
