I had intended to go and see Lego Batman this afternoon. I'm not a fan of Batman at all but the Lego version was one of the best parts of the Lego film. It certainly seems like the best version of Batman!
Anyway, I checked the film times thinking that there would be several options as it's only been out for a fortnight. There were two: either 11am which was the 3D version so that was out, or 5pm for the normal version. I'm usually making tea by then so that's out too. I hope that doesn't mean it's going to be taken off soon but it doesn't look very good for a film that's not been out for very long. I had a look to see what else was on and noticed that La La Land was still showing with four different options! That surprised me but I suppose all the BAFTA and Oscar nominations has led to a continued interest in it.
That would probably explain why it's also more expensive. The difference in ticket prices is astounding and I don't understand the logic behind it. The full adult price for some of the films on today varies greatly.
Lego Batman - £8.79
La La Land - £9.29
Hidden Figures - £10.49
Hacksaw Ridge - £8.29
Fifty Shades Darker - £9.29
What happened to there being a standard ticket price for all films?!? And when did films cost over £10? That is so ridiculous.
Anyway, La La Land was okay. It wasn't singing and dancing all the way through as I though it was, it seemed to be mainly at the start with one song towards the end. I found the end to be quite disappointing and a little bit depressing to be honest. I think I'd have enjoyed Lego Batman more. Hopefully that'll be on at a better time so I'll be able to see it in the next few weeks.
