Free coffee!
Around mid August, Costa sent me an email which said if I bought a drink before the 29th August, I'd get an extra 50 points on my loyalty card. I happened to be out and about a few days later, and found myself not too far from a Costa so I treated myself to a coffee. I waited for my extra points to be added but nothing appeared. The email said they'd be added by the 5th September so I checked again after that and still nothing. I emailed Costa to query it and a few days later, I got a reply which just said they were looking into it and they'd get back to me.
A few days ago, I was going through my inbox and realised I'd not heard anything further. I tend to star emails and leave them in my inbox to remind me that they're ongoing and I'm waiting for something from them. The response from Costa was still sitting there so I emailed them again to chase it up. It took a couple of days to get a reply again but they apologised for that. Apparently there had been some issue with promotions not getting applied correctly so they said as a gesture of goodwill, they'd give me some points to get a coffee on them. 300 points to be exact which is quite a lot when one single drink only tends to provide 10-15! Woohoo, free coffee! It rather makes me wish I drank coffee with milk in so that I could get something special, rather than just a boring black coffee. However, I got another email shot from Costa today saying that they're doing a special offer this week. If you buy a medium coffee, you can get any cake for just £1 extra... hehehehe :D
