Me neither! I actually emailed Lego to ask about it, and sent along that photo. They said it was a very rare occurrence and asked if I'd send the brick to them so they can look into it. They're going to send me a replacement which I find incredibly amusing. One single brick being sent all the way from Denmark.

I was going to suggest emailing them - from the couple of tv docs I saw they take their Lego *very* seriously (as well they should..) so I'm glad they responded so well and will investigate your poor brick. I always thought the stuff was indesctructible too - visions of a post-apocalyptic landscape populated by cockroaches and Lego. Cockroaches in lego houses? :)
