It's the hidden extras, that's how they get you
This holiday is costing me more in hidden extras than I thought it would; I've had to buy 3 additional things that I hadn't counted on.
Firstly, I've had to buy some new trainers because I happened to notice that the back of the heel on the inside was wearing away. It's not been a problem so far but I thought I might as well get some new trainers now. The last thing I want is for it to start rubbing on my heels while I'm on holiday! The last few pairs I've bought have been K-Swiss but they're not as common now so I had to have a good look around to find a pair I liked. I saw some Adidas Originals Adi-Rise 2.0 on the JD Sports site and they were so shiny! Plus the colourway that I liked best was reduced from £72 to £40! I got a pair of those and immediately exchanged the laces for Hickies, viz:
The Hickies will definitely come in handy for the flights if I'm going to have to remove and replace my shoes in a hurry. Plus they look good!
So, second on the list of additional extras was new underwear. I'd recently bought some new pairs, but I'd gone for the cheap ones from Matalan and Primark so they're already falling to pieces. The sewing holding the waistband on has broken so there's holes there, there's holes in the actual fabric and the elastic in the waistband has gone all weird and wibbly-bunched up. It's just not worth buying cheap undies! I found out that Burton had an offer on over the Bank Holiday weekend recently, 20% off everything on their site, so I managed to get 3 multipacks for £28. It would have been over £30 but I found a voucher code online to take off an additional £5 ;) And no, there's no picture of me wearing those, well not for just anyone anyway *winkwink*
Finally, I was using my headphones yesterday morning and couldn't help but notice that the sound kept cutting out. I thought initially it was because I was moving around and that was causing the sound to glitch but it turned out to be that the wire is broken. Well, the jack plug is coming off and the bare wires underneath are rather exposed. So new pair of headphones it is! They're Skullcandy Lowriders which I like because they fold up but Skullcandy doesn't have them on their website any more. They're still available at Argos and Curry's for £35 but in rather limited and yucky colours. I'd got my last pair from Amazon but they'd didn't have much there. I've found two decent pairs on eBay, both of which are ex-HMV stock. One finishes tonight and it's currently on £9 while the other (which is nicer) finishes on Thursday night and is at £1.20. Fingers crossed that I'll win one of those auctions and have a decent pair at a decent price!
