I had hoped to post about the fun day I had yesterday but that might have to wait till tomorrow now. We got a phone call this morning from my aunt down South letting us know that Nannie had died. This aunt is my stepfather's sister, so Nannie is their mother and my last remaining grandparent. My aunt had actually called last Sunday to let us know that Nannie wasn't well; she'd not been eating much, had been sleeping a lot, and in the last few days, she'd also been in a lot of pain. So at least she's not suffering now.

We're just waiting now to find out when the funeral is going to be and then deciding if we're going to go. I've not seen Nannie for years, primarily because they live right down the other end of the country, in Sussex. That distance is the main reason why we're unsure about going. The train fare is over £100 each. Going in the car means I'll have to drive all the way and I've not driven that kind of distance before. It'd take 5 hours at least on the motorway or about 8 hours on A roads, plus rest stops. I've done some motorway driving but not a great deal, and certainly not that kind of distance. It's so hard to know what to do.
