Grind, baby, grind!

I had a very good day on Saturday but I ended up paying for it on Sunday! :)

I went off into town in the afternoon to return some stuff I'd bought last week. I'd got a pair of jeans from TK Maxx which were rather small so I returned those and some cropped trousers from Debenhams which were too big so I returned those too. I'd also got some black jeans there which fitted okay but the denim was really thick and they didn't feel too comfortable so I swopped them for a blue pair. Then I was walking past the Officer's Club which had a sale on. Yeah, I know, it's the Officer's Club, it always has a sale on! I went in to have a look and they had an offer on two pairs of jeans for £20. They had some rather funky ones, there were two I wanted straight off so I picked up my size. Bearing in mind the jeans I'd just returned to TK Maxx which were supposed to be my size, I thought I'd best try them on first. So I asked the man at the counter if I could and he said sure without batting an eyelid. They fitted perfectly so I got them and returned the others to Debenhams! I'm such a cheeky sod! :)

I'd read in the paper in the week about a play at the Playhouse which sounded quite good so I thought I'd go off and see that. It would finish between half nine and ten so I could go onto Oblivion afterwards. I put on one of my new pairs of jeans and a tshirt I'd got a couple of weeks ago but hadn't worn yet. My hair was looking pretty good because I'd got some different gel in town so all in all, I was rather pleased with my reflection. So nice when that happens.

So I went off to the Playhouse and parked in the NCP carpark because I have a pass to park there for free. The only problem is that it's right the other end of town from Grimshaw Street where Oblivion is. I couldn't help but notice that the theatre looked rather shut and when I crossed over, the poster outside gave the dates for the play as being for next week, not this week. I wasn't overly bothered though, I could go and see The Sound Of Music which was on at the Charter Theatre instead. So I walked over there to see if there were any tickets left. They had, so I got one and then realised I'd left my glasses back in the car. I had twenty minutes before curtain up so I ended up legging it back. Bad idea. I'd not gone very far when I realised that this had caused my binder to slip. I got to the car, opened the passenger door and crouched down by the side to try and wiggle it back into place - not very succcessfully and walked at a pace back to the theatre.

The Sound of Music is one of my favourite films so I was intrigued as to how it would transfer to the stage. It actually was a very good show so I was glad I'd seen it. The kids were rather impressive and the girl playing Maria had quite a good range, though not quite as good as Julie Andrews'. Some of the pronunciation had me cringing though: it's schnitzel, not shitzel! And Reich, not Reik! Two of the Germans had rather broad Lancashire accents, so it was like "Ee lad, why's tha not flying t'flag o'Third Reik?" I managed to sort out my binder in the interval in the disabled toilet so was feeling better about that. The play finished at 9.45 so I went off to Oblivion.

It was quite busy in there, although I was a bit disappointed to see they had a different dj. I was just sat there, eyeing up the blokes and enjoying the music as well as watching 4 girls who were dancing near the dj and appeared to be having a whale of a time. Some drunk woman started talking to me, going on about how it was a nice place with a nice atmosphere and how her and her husband liked going in there. Then she was asking if I was gay and did I have a girlfriend or boyfriend so I made an excuse about getting another drink and went to the bar out of the way. I ended up sitting near the stage/dancefloor area instead. The 4 girls who had been dancing were suddenly joined by half a dozen of their friends and they were just dancing and messing about but obviously having fun. One of them came over to me some time later and asked if I was there on my own so I said yes. She asked if I was going on to the club and when I said probably, she said I could tag along with them if I wanted. She introduced herself, I think she said her name was Lesley but it was loud and I couldn't hear properly. Not long afterwards, they left so I tagged along with them and we went up to Blowing Wild.

I'd not been in there before, but it's quite a nice club. There's a decent sized dancefloor and the music wasn't bad: typical club fare mixed with stereotypical gay stuff, including a rather interesting mix of 9 To 5. I danced quite a lot which was great, and chatted a bit to some of the girls I'd tagged along with. Lesley tried to introduce me to some of the group, saying "This is Dayyle, she was all on her own" and making my heart sink. I never did get to know any of their names really but they were all rather friendly and obviously knew each other well, judging by the amount of grinding up against each other that was going on. One of them, a rather nice young blonde, decided to grind up against my thigh which put a smile on my face. I couldn't help but wonder what she would think if she felt my dick and seriously, the way she was grinding up against me later on, she must have done. She must have enjoyed it anyway because she kept coming back. And yes, I rather enjoyed it too. *blush*

People started to drift away about half one and I was thinking about leaving soon. I noticed that the nice young blonde staggered out the doors on her own and being the gentleman I am, I thought I'd see if she was okay because I didn't like the thought of her walking on her own, especially being rather worse for wear as she was. She ended up going into the kebab shop where some of her friends were so that wasn't too bad. I trekked across town to my car and got in about 2am, having had a rather good night.

Sunday was a lazy day, because I was shattered from Saturday. I got some writing done which made me feel constructive because I ended up watching 8 episodes of Friends - the two from Friday night that I'd not seen, plus the 6 favourite episodes of American viewers that they were showing on Channel 4. For some reason, the blonde I'd been dancing with on Saturday night kept popping into my head throughout the day. Hmmm. Not quite sure what to make of that.

After tea, I made a phone call. I'd e-mailed Simone a few days ago to see if she could contact Shirley Anne and get the right phone number for Brandon for me. Well, I got it on Thursday so I decided to give him a call tonight. It was a bit awkward at first because I didn't really know what to say to him! He asked me where I was up to so I explained the situation and he told me how he was doing. He actually said he'd been waiting for me to call because he doesn't know any other transguys in his area, like I don't know any in mine! He offered to meet up if I wanted, when I was ready to, and said he could lend me some of the books and copies of Boys Own that he has which is really nice of him! He sounded so helpful, but it could also be because of not having anyone to discuss stuff with, you know? He's going to give me a call on Tuesday and let me have his e-mail address. I'm really glad I made the call though!

I spent the rest of the night chatting to Michael and being annoyed by a certain small yappy-type dog. Meh. I introduced Michael to the delights of JK Rowling's official site which is brilliant. He was seriously impressed. I told him that he had to get the HP feed, as that was how I'd found out about it. Hehe, he has the trans info, I have the Harry Potter info. It's cool :)

going to the theatre, harry potter, michael, pubbing and clubbing, just another ex-boyfriend
