Manchester!
I'm going off to Manchester in the morning and staying there till Tuesday! I had hoped to be able to have a week's holiday in September sometime but it looks like it'll be 5 days in Manchester instead. I managed to find some student accommodation in the Oxford Road area which is very cheap and really ideally located. It also has internet access! Bonus!
So I get to spend all of Manchester Pride's Big Weekend actually in Manchester which I've only done once before and that time I was working so not really the same. It's the 21st Manchester Pride this year so I'm hoping to be able to do some of the events that are on while I'm there. A friend who does youth work for a group that I've done some Trans Awareness stuff for has asked me to march with them in the parade so that will be fun.
I'm also going to be doing some genealogy research while I'm down there. Initially I was only going to be staying from Friday to Sunday but then I thought I might as well make the most of being in Manchester and research the family members who were from the Greater Manchester area.
It's going to be a very busy 5 days, I can tell.
