Spread the word

Every Monday, I get an email from Statcounter with the previous week's visitor stats for my website. Usually the unique visitor count is between 650-750. I was incredibly surprised when I looked the email this morning to see that last week's stats totalled 1,059! I assume a link to my site was posted somewhere and checking the breakdown of each day, I noticed a spike on Tuesday's visitors up to 250. I've just had a look at Statcounter to find out where the deluge of visitors had come from but annoyingly the records only go back to Wednesday. As I'm on a free account there, it only records the last 500 and with getting well over that a week, I always lose the logs from the beginning of the week. So I have no idea what happened on Tuesday to cause that spike which is a shame.

I find it interesting looking at where people have come from to get to my site. The most popular page is the stp one and it gets linked to in the most random of places. The top place at the moment seems to be http://transguys.com/features/stp which is understandable. Most of the rest have come from Google and Statcounter shows the search terms which can make for very amusing reading. The majority are searching for something along the lines of "ftm pee standing up" or "can women pee standing up". Others seem to be looking for pron judging by their search terms of "women pissing standing up video", "women peeing on women" and "college girls peeing in urinal". Then there's the more random but interesting search terms, and I swear these are all actual terms that people have put into Google to get to my site.
  • Discuss whether or not you think it is important to create a gender balance in pronoun usage - this sounds like it's come from someone's homework
  • stand-and-pee in a mountain - IN a mountain?
  • inject testosterone horny
  • transgender guys get no respect
  • how to know which pronoun to use with trans people - I'm very glad that people are searching for things like this and that they come to my site through it
  • urinal peeking
  • Women that have on no clothes peeing
  • do women stand up to pee - are there really people who don't know this?
  • where sell boys urinals in texas - ?!?!
  • what are the two messages written on the wall in the chamber of secrets
  • how to make pee longer - why would you want to??
  • ftm wrong pronouns help
  • how to pee like a man uncensored - it's the uncensored bit that gets me, were they getting lots of censored results?
  • device to pull up pants
  • I'M A MAN AND I CAN ONLY PEE STANDING UP SOMETIMES - NO WONDER YOU'RE ALL SHOUTY
  • enemies of the heir beware
The more random sites that link to mine are places like veggieboards.com and tvtropes.org, the latter during a conversation about feminism and abortion apparently. In the past I've seen links on a sailing club's website (it was linked on the front page too, I wish I could remember which one it was!) and Gaia Online. It's all very amusing and it does make me a little bit proud when I think how many people are aware of my site - even on the random sites, the person linking to it is generally aware that it exists and hasn't just that second found it on Google. I kind of wish it was a page I'd actually written rather than one I just rescued! Although, having said that, my Trans101 page seems to be getting quite popular too and that I really am glad about. It's good to know that I'm educating people.
