Whovian spotting

I find it so amusing when I come across another Whovian because it's usually in the most unlikely of places. I was on the phone a few minutes ago booking my holiday in Wales and giving my email address details. I spelt it out for her, only to have her ask if I could repeat it because she'd got distracted trying to figure out where she'd heard it before. I said it was a planet, well, one of Jupiter's moons actually and her response was that she'd thought it was "the planet that Doctor Who comes from". And I was all "hee!"

So then my booking sidetracked into a discussion on how much we liked Ten and what we thought about Eleven in comparison. She told me a tale of going on a cruise somewhere (I forget where) and meeting up with a bunch of Americans who had all been to Cardiff and Llangollen which baffled her because although Llangollen is a pretty place, she didn't think there was any real reason to go there. And of course, it turned out they were all huge Who fans and had gone to visit the Doctor Who Experience. So more unexpected Whovian spotting! She said that she then out-geeked the Americans by talking about other sci fi stuff that they weren't into so I was even more amused. It was really unexpected but very nice all the same!

Shame there wasn't a Whovian discount on my holiday though ;) But yay, I have a week booked in Wales starting May 21st. I would have liked 10 days but she wasn't sure if the owners of the cottage would do that. She said it might be possible if the week before is still available at the beginning of May so I'm hoping it will be. I can't afford 2 weeks unfortunately, but 10 days is a nice compromise.
