The weather this weekend has been terrible. It's been about 16 or 16°C, blowing a gale and pissing it down all weekend. I was hoping we'd have a better summer this year than last but it doesn't look like it so far! I didn't feel like doing a great deal anyway, so I stayed in and did a great deal of nothing much. My ear is feeling better; the stabby pains have gone and it's not as sore as it was but it still feels irritated inside. My tablets will run out after tomorrow morning so I don't know if I'll be needing any more or not.
I've been playing about with a new toy in the guise of a new website. I've been trying to get rid of some old books for a long while and despite listing them on eBay, then on Amazon Marketplace and finally on my journal for very little money, I had no takers. Finally, I've decided to list them on
BookMooch which is a book swapping site. (If anyone else is listed on there, feel free to add me! I'm
Ganimede on there, naturally.) It seems to be working so far, I've had one book mooched already only a few hours after I listed it! I need to get out to the post office tomorrow and send it on its way to Finland.
I also need to post my old phone off as well. I've cleared all the stuff off it and got all the bits and pieces together ready to get rid of it. I always send my old phones to
envirofone because they recycle them and I get a nice amount of money in return. I'm getting nearly £45 in Argos credit for this one. Very nice, considering it cost me nothing in the first place. Oh, and if anyone is interested in signing up, please let me know and I'll send you an invite :)
Talking about technology sort of stuffs - yes, we were, just go with it, smile and nod if you have to - the mic that came with my iRiver has gone missing. I took it to Boston with me because I intended to record a voice clip while I was there but I forgot. Now I have no idea where it is and I'm way past due recording a voice clip. I've only done one this year and I was intending on doing one every three months. I'm wondering if it's somehow in my case which is now in the attic buried under a ton and a half of crap. I'll have to go and have a look, and hope that it is, otherwise I'll need to buy a new one. Maybe I'll have to get one from Argos with my lovely credit. I'd really rather not.
On the subject of buying stuff - smile and nod, remember, smile and nod - I need to find some decent coffee. I like my coffee and as well as the regular stuff, I also like flavoured coffee. I hate milk in coffee so I miss out on all the lattes and cappuccinos so I make up for it by adding flavouring. However, I've tried lots of different makes over the years and I've found that the majority of them smell wonderful but taste of nothing but coffee! If I'm buying something and spending extra money on it because it's flavoured to taste of caramel mochachinolatte with cinnamon, then by golly, I want it to taste of caramel mochachinolatte with cinnamon! I was hopeful when I tried
New England Coffee because it did taste slightly of something other than plain coffee. Their website has loads of amazing flavours that are exclusive to their online shop - apple strudel, cinnamon sticky bun, maple cinnamon french toast and pistachio ice cream to mention a few - but they only post to the US and Canada! And they're $7.50 a bag plus $6.25 postage. Then the other day, I thought I'd found the answer. I happened to come across the
Whittard's coffee I'd bought in the sale some months ago at the back of the cupboard. It's creamy chocolate caramel and smells gorgeous, but what's more, it also actually tastes of creamy chocolate caramel too! It's amazing! The best flavoured coffee I've ever had! Just a shame that it only comes in 120g bags and costs £3.75 for that tiny amount. And the nearest Whittard's? Manchester. There has to be a decent flavoured coffee that won't cost the earth somewhere! It's not even as though I have Dunkies coffee to fall back on!
