Neopets
Who remembers Neopets? Who had an account? I was very surprised when I got a recent email from them saying that the website was undergoing major improvements with the aim of bringing it back. It even made the BBC news! The new homepage is to be launched tomorrow and the games on the 25th. I can't believe it's the 25th anniversary next year!
I joined in July 2005 and used to spend quite a bit of time on there. I had a list of all the daily tasks to do to get the freebies. I think there was a wheel spin, and of course, the daily free omelette. I didn't have very many friends on there, less than half a dozen, I think. I loved the games, particularly the ice cream one that I seem to remember doing quite well on. I used to play for a bit, go off and do something else, then come back and play a bit more. It was a shame when they broke due to the reliance on Flash. I last logged in in 2021 after not visiting for years, but a lot of the site wasn't working. My poor pets will be starving!! It would be fun to have it back up and running again, although between that and Reddit, I'll never get anything done!
