It's called Harry Potter: Magic Awakened and the players are able to attend Hogwarts, go to the Ball, take part in duels, play Quidditch, visit places like the Forbidden Forest and Diagon Alley, and solve mysteries. All of that is already in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery so it's odd that Portkey Games has produced two similar games. Hogwarts Mystery is set before Harry's time though and Magic Awakened is set 10 years after the Battle of Hogwarts (which makes it 2008). Magic Awakened seems to be more of a card collecting game and has a vastly different look. I'm not sure about the art/graphics style but then I'm very much used to the one for Hogwarts Mystery.

There's no information yet as to when the game is going to be available but I imagine it will be soon seeing as the trailer has been released. If you register on the website, you can get special in-game bonuses. You can also pre-register on Google Play and that will notify you when the game is ready to install.

This is the fourth HP mobile game. I've played all the previous three with varying levels of interest. Puzzles and Spells is a match 3 game but I found it boring and deleted it quite quickly. Wizards Unite was like Pokemon Go so that was a bit better. I played that reasonably regularly until the pandemic. I think that killed it off actually and it closed at the end of January. Hogwarts Mystery was the first mobile game in 2018 and I played it constantly for a long time. It's not the same as it was initially and not in a good way. The devs have introduced lots of side quests and extra games, as well as events to win a customisation item; at first the events were infrequent but now they're weekly and it's too much. They're also overrun with bots and cheaters which makes it unfair and frustrating. There's barely any time to actually play the main storyline because there's too much else going on so it's very overwhelming. I've barely played it for the past two years now. Hopefully this new game will be more enjoyable and not as demanding!
