I think I'm either getting promoted or fired, I've been hearing my name in hallways that much, and people have been acting that mad and coy when I ask about it, like I'm not a cop, like I wouldn't notice they're being weird. There are a couple of lagass guys senior to me, though, so my life's gonna be hell until I know for sure. They're just not big fans of new guys pulling ahead in any way. Or having first names. The inhumanity, the audacity, whatever, I don't even know.

So root for a promotion, but I don't even know where they'd stash me if they pulled me from where I am now.
