Attention Austinites with a spare couch or bed

I was accepted into the Master's program at Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, so I am planning to move to Austin at the end of this month (August). I would like to move down a week or so before classes start in order to have some time finding a permanent place for me to live and get some job hunting done.
To Austinites or folks who know folks in Austin: I am looking for a couch or so to crash on until I can get settled. Ideally, I will only need 2 weeks of this. The school is in South Austin (Manchaca Rd just north of 290/71), so places near there are preferred (for commuting factor), but I won't be picky. The more options I have the less I need to stay in one place. It will only be me and a bag or two of necessities.
