The half moon is hazy in the dusty light-blue evening sky, and I'm dancing on the balcony to George Michael and Mary J Blige. Dancing sober, but high on life and summer. The lilacs are only starting to bloom but summer is here already. The rains are summer rains, the air is full of flower scents, there are mosquitos. The gym is going on its summer schedule. I love this time of year so much. The feeling is more intense every new spring. It's like I have a mainline to the wellspring of new life, like I'm completely connected.
It's been very quiet on the job front for a couple of weeks. It happens once in a while, I don't worry. So I've had time to enjoy the sun and smell the flowers. Have lunch with Annie or Joanie downtown. Take long walks and bike rides. Have coffee out on the balcony while the music is playing. I'm all caught up on chores and errands. My hair has been cut and bleached and I feel fiiine. :)
Joanie had her birthday celebration out by the cottage today. She had a catered buffet from the Happiness Café and everybody sat around in the shade drinking lemonade. A lazy day out in the countryside... I happened to get the comfiest chair... And whenever I started thinking about getting up to get some cake or coffee, Joanie read my mind and served me whatever it was I wanted right where I was sitting. Like an old married couple, we are. :) Well, after ten years' worth of Tuesday lunches, we SHOULD know each other's fika habits... We saw a pheasant and a tiny lizard.
