So it's already the end of another Thursday. Which means that tomorrow at this time, the weekend will have started. WooHoo!
A few things I wanted to post about:
ॐ
Firstly, if you recall, a few posts back I shared the movie "Kisna" on here. Since seeing this movie, I have not been able to get the song "Woh Kisna Hai" out of my head. It is so wonderful, seriously! The music and melody are fantastic and the lyrics are amazing as well. Of course, it fits into the film great, but I love the song for it's praising of RadhaKrishna and their shyam (love). As soon as I get the chance to download the mp3, I am going to add it to my morning and after-work mix of bhajans, kirtan and chants. I will actually probably try to do that after posting this, because I just realized today that all of the religious music that I listen to in my iPhone basically only praises the names of Sri Genesha, Durga Ma and Kali Ma. They are all wonderful and amazing, and, of course, really include every other Name in their recitation, but sometimes when you hear or say the sounds of a different Name of the Lord, different feelings and emotions can take you over and take you to a different beautiful place.
Here's the song (sorry I couldn't find it with English subtitles!):

Secondly, this Friday/Saturday is Mahashivratri!! I am really looking forward to it :)) I plan on fasting for the whole 24 hours. That means no food and no water. I was debating on whether or not I should allow myself to drink water and eat fruit, but then I decided against it. I will go the whole 24 hours without any of it, and then, perhaps for some days after, I will continue to fast, but with drinking water and eating fruit...only fruit. Though I will be working tomorrow, I will attempt to keep the "Om Namah Shivaya" mantra going for the whole entire time. If I take a pause from it, it will only to be to listen to or read something having to do with Lord Shiva. I have to say that I am rather excited. Unfortunately, I will not be able to take part in all of the wonderful rituals that usually take place on this most auspicious day/night, but I will do what I can and, as we all know, as long as your heart is in the right place, it doesn't matter if you are not able to do any fancy stuff anyway...though I am sure it helps the concentration ^_^ I will do my very best though, so hopefully, Lord Shankar (Shiva) will be happy with me :)
If you would like to know more about Mahashivratri, this is a great site!
