No, I do get my vacation pay for severance, and the office doesn't actually close until the 18th, so I do have a bit of time and $. But it was still a shock. And knowing that there's nothing I could have done differently to keep the job - I mean, I really did the very best I could - I don't know whether that makes me feel better or worse, in the end.
However: it is clear the universe is telling me something. I am going to assume it's that I need to move ahead and stop being complacent.
I did get some lovely friends out of the experience, too. So it's all good.
