obtuse

I'm not sure if I'm purposely being obtuse, but one day into the new era of American poltics and I'm already tired of hearing how change has come. I understand that Barack Obama has done something special, but he has done nothing yet. Up until January 20, 2009 change is all talk. I understand that he is the first man of color to be President, but at the same time he talks about uniting a country. The only news on the cycle today seems to be that America has a black president. If you want to unite the country, the first order should be that he and everyone else in the United States be identified as purely american. I don't state that I am Irish-American and I don't think I've read the term, "Africian-Britian" or "African-French", I could be wrong but they are all British or French. Maybe this just makes me a closet racist. I am proud of my heritage and where my family has come from, but I am just an American, not Greek-American or Chinese-American.

I hope President Barack Obama will bring the breath of fresh air this country needs as we hang on trying to hold a recession off. Change is not something that happens overnight, but it may have been started.
