Hope you all are having a great weekend!
I just wanted to share this steak roast recipe that we're currently addicted to. The recipe is actually a happy accident borne of kitchen boredom.
Season steak with salt and pepper at least 20 mins before cooking. Put oil in pan and heat on high (you should see it smoking a bit). Lower fire to medium and sear each side of the steak for 2 minutes. You can cut up the steak before putting it in a baking pan. Chop up some garlic and onions, add olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and a dash of soy sauce. Add this to the steak. You can also add veg / potatoes / kamote at this point (sweet potatoes are highly recommended. Their sweetness contrasts nicely with the saltiness of the roast). I pre-fry the kamote so they're easier to cook. You can also sprinkle on herbs at this point. Then stick in fish oven (I'm not sure if this feature is unique to Japanese stoves, but any oven should work fine) on medium for about 10 minutes. Check at 8 minutes to see if done. Enjoy!
