Existenz - 3.5 to 4 out of 5
My second time watching it. I couldn't remember anything about it apart from it being fleshy. But it was David Cronenberg and pre Spider so i could have guessed that. The convoluted nature of the plot actually served an important purpose and ended up leaving me feeling as lost as the characters. My one gripe with the movie was that some of the acting wasn't of a high enough calibre. Without giving too much away the ending of the film provides an explanation for the erratic performances, which is satisfying. My favourite scenes were the denouement and the scene in the chinese restaurant where Penkell (sp?) "plays with the special of the day".

Sisters - 3.5 out of 5
I'm glad that  metaphor123  convinced me to watch this. The only other Brian De Palma film i can remember watching is Carrie. While i don't think this film is in the same league as Carrie, it was still a lot of fun to watch. Very stylish and inventive. Payed a not very subtle homage to Hitchcock's works. Some of the other scenes played out like good Giallo films. A great example of this was the first kill which if i had been shown it out of context could have easily been convinced i was watching an early Argento film down to the bright thick blood.

Scarecrow Gone Wild - Quality = 0 out of 5. Fun watching with a bitchy friend = 5 out of 5.
I hesitate to say that there was a homoerotic subtext to this film. That is only because the homoeroticism is slapped against the viewers face like a teabagging victim. Whether you were watching the scene where the jock ties the twink to a crucifix and the taunts him by licking beer off his waxed chest or noticed that of the two girls to take off their tops in the film one had Mosquito Bites and the other looked like an old tranny who was trying to airbrush off the age with surgery and failing miserably, it was hard not to get the impression that the director had some feelings he was freeing through the movie, that had been pent up too long. And holy shit thats a long sentence.

Xfiles: I want to believe Movie - Too disappointing to talk about.
