Family Reunion
My brother lives in Japan, so I have seen him only rarely in the past ten years. Recently, however, he has been coming over for weeks at a time to check in on my folks, who are getting up there. The above picture was taken when I visited him and my mother down in Panama City. We were eating breakfast at "Bayou Joe's" on Massalina Bayou.
My parents are divorced and live quite some distance apart, so we will have our work cut out for us as they age. My dad lives in Tennessee. Fortunately, my brother has figured out that he can continue his work (translation from Japanese to English) using a laptop computer while he stays here and visits with either or both of my parents. It was good to see him, although I only had three days to spend down there (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). You can see the two of us by our lonesome on the deck overlooking the marshes of Scipio Creek in Appalachicola behind the cut.
