Geocaching, revisited

Dec 17, 2006 20:53

I bought a new palm pilot recently, and a new GPS receiver to go with it. When telling one of my friends about it, I mentioned I could use it for geocaching. She had no idea what I was talking about, so I told her about it. She got excited, so I took her and her friend geocaching last Friday. Had a lot of fun. We both picked up some trackable items from the caches, mine is a little toy jeep whose owner's name is Glen, and wants it to go places named Glen. I'm going to take a picture of it in front of the Glenwood neighborhood's sign, then put it back in another cache. My friend picked up a balloon coin that wants to travel to Long Beach, CA, then back to Port Aransas, TX during the summer. She just happens to be visiting California soon. Seems like a sign, eh?
She's gotten way into it- she's planning to buy my old palm pilot and GPS off me. I've loaned it to her for now, and took her geocaching again today so she can get the hang of using it. We've found these so far:
